Does Revolution 5.1 have wave output for CEP?

Boy did I mess things up - followed by three days of computer hell - I'll bet you've been there. Anyway, I bought a Revolution 5.1 sound card that I hoped to use with my rig... Cool Edit Pro 2, Windows XP SP2, 2.6Mhz processor, 2 GB RAM in a Gateway Desktop. The control panel for recording and playback only shows WAV in playback... or is it record? (I had to remove the driver.) But it seems that CEP needs WAV record AND play.

Confounding me more - my old card Audigy SB400 has a seperate wire that feeds the CD player into it and the Rev has an incompatible recepticle.

I swear I've tried every variation.

The whole point of Rev 5.1 was better fidelity and an aux input. I feed that from a recording rig in another room.

I have a bad feeling that there are no drivers compatible with XP SP2. After 47 minutes on hold I got a tech at M-Audio who didn't know what was going on and - of course - blames CEP. He heard of but didn't know Skype either (another problem introduced with Rev 5.1.

Any info/ advice means a lot. My shirt still smolders.

Thanks.

Bob
