How does reaper clean up it's temporary project files? Until minutes ago, I had it configured to save all project files in a folder called reaper/temp, giving me the impression that all the contents of that folder were temporary.
I noticed that my "temp" folder had hit a size of 50 GB, so I decided to see about cleaning it up a little. I listened to several of the files in there and found that they were mostly malformed half takes that I had thought Reaper should have deleted months ago. So I deleted everything in the folder.
Then I opened a project and discovered that most of the data was missing. Fortunately, I transfer things back and forth between reaper and Audacity frequently, so I had most of the really important information in .wav files elsewhere.
The question is, Does Reaper delete files that aren't needed anymore? If I record a take and decide I don't like it, will I have to go into the project's storage and manually delete it?
