I have ACID 2.0 that I use with drum loop cd's to create most of my drum tracks. Up till now all I have used is 16 bit Loop cds. However I am considering buying another cd that I can get in 16 or 24 -- My multitrack software (N-Track support 24 bit and I do everything else in 24.
If I buy the 24 bit wav file cd will my ACIC 2.0 work with the 24 bit?

Any help appreciated.

I'm pretty sure it does, though it's been awhile since I used ACID 2 (I'm on 5 now). Do you have any 24-bit files around, or can you create one? If so, just try to import it and see what happens.

Yep! it works.
All I use the 2.0 for is to construct drumm loops to import to N-track

Any real need to upgrade? What would upgrades do for me that I don't have with this Ancient version?

download the 5.0 demo and try it out
and u'll see if u need to upgrade or not :)

Yes, ACID 2.0 works with 24-bit. I do it all the time and no problems...

My 2.0 does work with 24 bit however I can only export in 16 bit.
What would be the minimal upgrade to export 24bit wav files after I have constructed drum tracks?
By the way the 2.0 I have is ACID "Style" got it cheap with some Latin loops just to get the ACID software, but it does pretty much everything I need excetp export in 24bit. And that is no real problem, just would like to be able to if an upgrade was not real expensive.

I think you'd need at least Acid Pro 3 for that, but I don't think you can upgrade to anything besides version 5 if you go through Sony.

I have ACID 2.0 Style also and it worked for me up untill last night .... I couldn't go less then 75bpm ...

Acid 5 doesn't work on Win 98 ... what??? and I can't upgrade to 4.0 ... what's up with that?

Found and downloaded free Acid eXpress 4.0 ... it only does 10 tracks ... dope!!!

Well I am not about to upgrade to Xp so will see if I can find Acid 4.0 version somewhere .... actualy you can Acid Pro 4.0, it's still out there ... but I don't need Pro for $250 I need Acid Music or Style or what ever for $20 or something...

Does anyone found a simular program to Acid...?

Yes it does. I'm running Acid Pro 4 on XP Pro and it works a lot better than it did in 98SE. So there! :p (I also have Acid Pro 5 but haven't had the time to really give it a work-out. Too many Vegas projects on the grill!)

Nice to see you back on the boards, spinster!

Because it's no longer the new kid on the block at Sony. If you can find a demo version of 4 you could install that and see if they'll let you upgrade from there, but even that may not work. But yeah, the multitude if versions is a pain in the ass. This is why I waited so long to upgrade from Vegas Pro 1 (leaped all the way to version 5).
