Does it support MIDI?

I have heard somewhere, maybe on the bbs that cooledit pro 1.2a does not support MIDI. Is this true. If so could I use a quarter inch plug to hook my yamaha psr540 up to a quarter inch plug in my soundcard on my computer. I would use the headphone jack as the line out for the quarter inch plug. MIDI IS NOT AUDIO.

Yes, using the outs on your Yamaha will work and is the only way to get audio into your computer.
