I'm a little behind the PC market these days...
If I have a MB w/ NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 and DDR-3200 DualCh. RAM... BUT my CPU is only rated for 333 (2800XP Barton), So I run the MB at the 333 speed... will the RAM still run as Dual Channel?
From what I've read Dual CH. RAM will still work on non-Dual MB? Is that correct also?
My studio PC (EPoX MB, 1400XP, DDR-2100, Matrox G550) My MB went down a few months ago so I picked up a cheap one to fill in. Found a Great deal on a ECS w/ a 2800XP Barton CPU for $90. It's working good actually. I want to get some RAM so I can up my Bus from 266 to 333. I figured I should just get DDR3200 instead of 2700 and I'll probably get a NVIDIA nForce2 MB sooner or later.
So I'm wondering if the Dual CH. memory will still run Dual on a slower 333 bus and Run at all on a Non-Dual board like the ECS? Actually I don't know much about the Dual Ch. RAM in general... but there's some Kingston on sale and I'm trying to figure it out.
Thanks for any Help,
B.
