Does BSOD hurt or currupt Windows?

After having a dozen or more blue screens of death on my DAW, I finally found the problem and corrected it. (One stick of memory was bad.) But now I can't shake the feeling that Windows 7 may be a little unstable after all of those errors and crashes caused by the faulty memory.

What do you think? Can a BSOD actually create new problems or maybe cause system files to become corrupt?

BSOD means something has already gone terribly wrong with Windows.
