Does anybody have the Tascam mixing board that runs through your computer via usb ports and is supposedly able to interface with Cool Edit 2.0 and Cakewalk. Has anyone tried it?? Do you like it??? and Is it any good/worth the money??? Thanks for anyone's help
 
if you are referring to the Tascam 428, i have it and i like it alot.

i intended to use it strictly for recording on the laptop 'in the field' ie... over other artist's cribs.

however, i've started using it for some mixing duties as well.

only drawback is that it doesn't have phantom power for condensor mics.

i'm thinking about buying either two RNPs, or 2 DMP3's to use as preamps into the 428
 
I was wondering do u have to use Cubase with it or can you use like I said Cool Edit Pro 2.0 or Cakewalk which one can you use if you can use any..... I am asking all of these questions because I am thinking about purchasing it so any and all help will be appreciated... Do you have anything to say negative about this unit such as it can't do this or that and you think it should be able to thanks for any and all help in advance
