I suppose I should have posted this in the digital recording and computers section...
It's ok, i figured out a quick fix. unfortunately that fix is installing the drivers everytime the computer boots. guess I'll just have to wait until I can figure something else out.

Normally every mother board has 1 or 2 USBs that are located on it. All of the other USBs you find on your computer are extensions. If you plug the interface into extensions you have the described problem. Find the one that is on the mother board and the problem should disappear. At least it worked in my case.
