Does anyone use a Boss BR1600, 16 track Multitrack Recorder

[59 Les Paul]

I use one and like it. I've actually had good success with it. I was wondering if anyone else has any experience with this unit and if they would share any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, what you do, how you do things, types of bands you record, etc, etc.

What else do you use with it? do you record direct into the unit or do you use an outside mixer or other effects, etc?? Just Curious. I ask because it seems everyone these days is recording via a computer.

I used to use a BR1180CD back in the day. I found the pre-amps to be terrible, crackly. The onboard effects were not nice. And the editing functions were a bit fiddly.
A good suggestion would be to track raw with your Boss recorder then make a digital data CD of the recordings and then import them into your computer with a nice DAW and some plug-ins. And Mix it in your computer.
