I have no problem with Apogee or anything else...
If I had the money, I'd have it right alongside of my HD rig.
It isn't like ProTools is invincible quality wise...no one is saying that...I mean, "Pre" speaks volumes about that (not that it will be bad...but, we can still do better) - sure sure. But PT is an amazing complete and comfortable system to work on.
And you can use whatever the hell converters you want to...but you might want to listen to a 192 IO
