does anyone have/know anything about the mackie hdr24? Help!

i got a job mixing live sets from warped tour, recorded with a mackie hdr24.

They sent the hard drives...standard ide's

I "THOUGHT" it was as easy as putting the hd's in my computer and importing the wavs into protools.

This is not the case?

The drives are recognized by my ide controller....but there is no partition and they don't show up in windows....they are supposedly fat 32.

anyone got any ideas? Please help. :)
 
yeah i did...it's very unclear, with VERY little information about taking into a pc. I assume this is because it's not easy to do. :(
 
Have you posted on the Mackie User forum? There are a bunch of extremely helpful folks there who should be able to help you out.

To get there go to mackie.com and scroll down to the highlighted text for the user forum, then go to the hard disc recorder section.

Check the Mackie forum. I'm pretty sure they should have rendered the files for you. You may need to get ahold of a HDR and render them yourself. Make sure it was recorded on an HDR and not one of their other units because I believe the HDR is the only one that does export to PC pretty painlessly.
 
i checked the mackie board already. mackie tech support opened so i called them. they said everything is looking ok (as far as what im doing) but it looks like the hard drives might be blank?

now im desperately looking for a studio in la with a mackie hdr24/96 so i can test this ish. Anyone? does anyone know of a search engine for studios in la that will actually work?
 
Well, I can only give advice as far as my computer experience goes. I don't know what kind of hard drive settings the Mackie uses, but you might want to check the jumpers and be sure that they are set right (slave, master, etc. etc.). It almost sounds like that's the problem from what you are describing. Well, good luck.

yeah dude, im more of a computer tech than an engineer....tried it on several ide controllers, 2 pcs, master/slave/single etc...
