here's a quick demo I made with the pedal: http://musicmusicmusic.cn/theoldman.html

Last year I bought a Doepfer Wheel Electronic card to make a pair of knee operated pitch levers, mainly so I didn't have to take my left hand off of the keyboard every time I did a bend (and lose the bottom end). That took up 2 of the Wheel Electronic's five inputs. So the other day I used up two more, one to make a Pedal that I'll mostly use for a wah wah pedal, and the other is a a red momentary contact switch (the red button) that sends out CC 123 (all notes off) to fix accidental stuck notes.

The pedal is hillbilly construction - 1/2" plywood:

Some velcro on the bottom makes it stick like crazy to a carpet. The red arrow is for the hex key adjustment where the pedal grips the volume pot shaft:

It uses a stereo guitar cable to plug into the Doepfer card, which is inside the grey box. I had to mount a stereo 1/4" jack on the box. I used a junk 10K Ω linear pot from Radio Shack. The black vac cap is on a bolt that has two nylon insert nuts on it and that stops the pedal from just flopping and it will stay where you leave it. I had a Cry Baby beside me while I made this to compare physical specs.

There's room for one more pedal, and I think that it might be for mod wheel.

The pedal outputs CC 007, so I used MidiPipe to mess with it. I ended up having the pedal send out CC 071 and CC 074 and both have been tweaked and ranged so they are in different places. I got it so that when the pedal is back I've got a normal EVH brown sound and then it jumps out more trebly with the wah. It feels great and yesterday a friend came over and we jammed for 4 hours straight.

Screwup: the pot would be better on the other side 'cuse it ends up the jack makes the cable come out the right side and it has to cross over to the left to get to plug in... the other side would have been cleaner... that's why it's a prototype.

Also, it seems like it would be a good idea to put a small defeat toggle switch on the pedal jack at the pc card so that if the pedal screwed up you could use the rest of the Doepfer card without the pedal.
