Son of Yoda
I've never dropped a guitar. My main strap takes about 10 minutes to work over the knobs...
Yep, I use these guys on everything. They're something like $5 for a set of three so the two or three packs I've bought have clocked in at less than a single set of the installed ones.
I've had one pop off, but that's on a rather unusually-shaped guitar (that I only use in the studio anyway)
I dropped my Les Paul from playing height onto my concrete floor. I immediately went to the computer and ordered straplocks online. My new Fender actually came with straplocks and a leather strap. Fancy.
I have troubles with the straplocks though...over time, the U-shaped clasp slowly rotates and ends up upside down, making it almost useless. Most of the time I catch it before it gets too far, reposition it, and tighten the nut back down. But sometimes I don't catch it, and I've dropped my guitar more times since installing straplocks than ever before. Fortunately I've caught it every time other than that first disastrous drop (the plastic jack plate shattered and saved the instrument).
Little detail on the website - would these fit over the extra-wide Taylor end pin jack?
I have never used strap locks, and in 45 years of playing - and 42 years of gigging - I have never dropped a guitar. This is almost certainly because when I am playing one my hands are on the instrument.
