Hi everyone,

So I finally bought the new Dreadnaut album... www.dreadnaut.net
I really like their music and they've become somewhat of a home town hero to all of us here. They are doing quite well in Winnipeg, Manitoba as well.

So after listening to their new album 'a new design' a few times I've become some what disapointed. It's definately not the muscianship or song writing. The drum's just dont cut through the mix at all, and the overheads aren't crisp and clear like they should be. Also the bass is fairly burried.

So I guess this would be nu-metal.... check it out and tell me what you think of the supposed 'professional mixing and mastering' done on this album. The song's called Spine.

Hey. Sorry man but I think I have to disagree

This sounds awsome, IMO everything is were it should be and the drums have awsome attack, sounds awsome. were can I buy the CD??

Well the quality of mix is pretty good. But the drums are a little hidden. I personally boost drums alot but not so much that they dont sit right with the mix.

Maybe you can get away with boosting the drums a little, but even them being at the level they are now it still sounds great.

The CD is available in a buncha local music stores, but check out the website

and email the guys and they can probably give you more info.

Really great album, especially compared to their last one. I think if they keep the pace they are traveling at they have a decent chance of making it.

Sounds good to me, the drums seem a little quiet, but only a tiny, tiny, bit. I don't think they got ripped off at all.

the drums are triggered....

they sound good except for the snare

cheesy as hell. too dry. I hate triggered snares with a passion.

I really don't see what you're talking about- about the drums not cutting through??
