Do you guys use your recording sound card for other things? (music/games)

Well obviously I bought my sound recording card (aardvark direct pro 24/96) for sound recording but recently I've been curious as if it would be any good for listening to music or playing games (like battlefield 1942)?

I've been using my onboard sound Nvidia Nforce 2 soundstorm which... i dont know, i guess is decent. I'm guessing it would be better to play games with that but music? Since its 24/96 I could probably play DVD audio if I had a DVD player...hmm.

I'm just curious now because I just purchased Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers for my pc (finally good quality speakers!!).

what do you think?

My MOBO also has the onboard Soundstorm. When I did a side by side comparison between the Soundstorm and my Audiophile 2496 card the Soundstorm sounded like it had a pillow in front of the speakers. Don't punish yourself any longer. Disable that piece of crap as fast as you can.

I only have one soundcard (Delta66 w OmniStudio) in my machine and no onboard sound.

It's fine for games and stuff, although I'm not sure if it supports in-game things like 'hardware mixing' and stuff.

My high powered machine has been a games/music system for more than 4 years now, seeing M-Audio, Aardvark, and now E-mu doing sound duties. No problems.
