OK, I have read many posts from this section because I'm trying to come up with a way to put drum tracks into my own recordings and covers. I don't play drums and I'm not in a band with a good enough drummer to record so I need to create this stuff. I currently rely on the drum loops in Garage Band but they are not the best for my music so I tried to purchase some software.
I bought a copy of Battery 3 from the local guitar shop but I didn't do the research on this product first. After I open and installed this on my computer, I realized it had no click and drag functionality for quick loops that I could just drop into my songs as I would do in Garage Band. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't understand how this software is truly used.
My question is, did I waste my money or is there a way that I can still use this software to make full drum tracks. My equipment is as follows:
PowerMac G5 Dual Core
Firepod
Logic Express 7.2
Korg TR Series Keyboard (for MIDI device)
I have to admit that my experience level with this side of recording is also crap. If I can use what I have, what is the learning curve.
Any help / advice would be very appreciated.
