This preamp normally goes for $199 most places. Guitar center is blowing them out at $118 during their green tag sale. If you want a really great preamp that can get a little fat if necessary now is the time.

Yeah, I bought another one.

Middleman, the GC here in San Marcos, CA says their price is still $199, but they will match the price of the GC where you bought yours if I can give them the store location. Can you tell me the location (address) and phone number of your store?

Much appreciated.

Lake Forest, California. They had 3 of them with the green tags, brand new in the box. Don't have the number but it's in the 949 area code.

Good Luck

I called the Lake Forest store, where they confirmed that a) the price was $118 and b) they were out, and wouldn't be ordering any more. I took this tale of woe to the Arvada store near Denver (about an hour south of me) where the pro sound manager told me that $118 was below his cost of about $132.50, but he'd let me have one for $140. Sounded good to me, since he could find nothing in their computer system that ever pointed to a $118 price. I also got them to price match digitalproaudio for an M-Audio 1010LT, so I got it for $249.99.

I guess I did okay.

Yeah, I think something got messed up in the system that this one store was selling them so low. It just does not make sense that they would sell below cost because they are so stingy on even used gear.

I went to another store north of me, their price was $199. I should have bought all 4 of the ones I saw and sold them on eBay making a $40 apiece, too much work though. Just glad I got one as I had sold my first one and have regretted it.

Magpie99, you did alright even at $140
