Does anyone have experience with or own both the dmp-3 and yamaha mg mixer? I was set on the dmp-3 but started thinking about future needs and the possibility of not being able to afford an additional preamp for awhile. I own an audiobuddy. Would the yamaha pre's be better than the audiobuddy or maybe some where in between the audiobuddy and dmp-3?

For now I will be tracking myself on guitar/vocals/bass but would like to have 4 pre's for doing live recordings with a friend (2 acoustic guitars, 2 vocals), using a couple of low budget condensors into a 1010LT card. Basically, I can keep the audiobuddy and get a dmp-3 or send the audiobuddy back and get the yamaha mg 12/4. So, if anyone has experience with both of those units, please let me know how you compare them, sound quality wise.

so....no one here has used or owned both? ok, if not, what are your opinions of the yamaha mg mixers? specifically the 12/4 and 16/4.

well, i own and use a mg 12/4 on a daily basis in my little homestudio, actually i'm rather satisfied with it, i know that it is not high-end in any way, but i think the sound is decent. I chose it because of the pricetag, and the routing possibilities.. However the pre's in the dmp is probably better than in the mg..
