I was recording my GT2 directly into my DMAN 2044 last night when I noticed some odd "static" at the top of the track. Originally, I thought this was just the GT2 - since the pedal was plugged directly into the sound card, maybe it was just "overloading" the signal. But when I recorded this signal through the DMAN and then played back the source through my SoundBlaster, the static did not appear - this is obviously an issue with the DMAN's outputs. I checked the mixer and it is set a little above the middle. Is that the correct setting? Is there something else that I am am missing?
Also, when I playback tracks in Cakewalk from the DMAN (for mixdown purposes), how can I get the tracks not to be "hard panned" left and right. It seems that the only option for playback through the card is hard left, hard right or center. Does anyone know how to get around this?
Thanks,
Jer
