Does anyone has any experience with the Midiman Dman 2044 running alongside the onboard soundchip (c-media 8738) of the ASUS P4B 266?
Would It work?
Or do I have to disable the onboardsound in any way to get the Dman running?
By the way - what are the best dma/irq settings for the Dman and onboard then?
What is the latency of the Dman and the c-media 8738?
If I have to chose between both of them - which one should I take?
Ony my old system the Dman served pretty well - but it had a latency of about 76 ms - what about the c-media 8738?

Thanks.....

What OS are you going to use? The Dman 2044 is a discontinued product and drivers for 2000 and XP are non-existent.

I'm using Windws 98 SE
Pentium IV Northwood
I've got the latest Win 98 drivers for the Dman and the onboard chip - but they won't coexist....

Any advice....

I've had problems with my Dman 2044 in a different machine also... but I found a workaround for mine...
install the card, driver.
Then through the device manager, remove the dman and then refresh... that should reload the driver and have it working.

The dman does not like to share irq's, but if it's the last installed device on an irq, it seems to be ok. hope that helps.
