I am trying to record from a DJ Mixing board (Rane MP 24) to an OEM Soundcard. I am having problems getting both channels to come through (both play and record). Right now I am using the RCA Tape Outputs with a Y-adapter to a single stereo 1/8" plug. The soundcard is stereo-capable. I have even tried just a CD-Player with the same luck.
The Mixing board has several different outputs: RCA Out, 3 seperately preamped 1/4" (L and R) and the main output also has outputs for XLR connections. There is also a 1/4" Headphone output. And finally there are two Loop Stereo I/Os- a switchable loop and an effects loop.
My immediate goal is to burn a couple crates of my wax with my CD-RW and get them the #@#! out of my living space (I'm too old to have crates of records lying around!)..My long-term goal is to be able to make mix multi-track recordings and burn them onto CD should I ever feel motivated to spin again.
I am aware that I will want to buy a new soundcard but am also looking for some recommendations?
Thanks,
