DIY Class D power amp - useful as a power amp for studio monitors?

They are high efficiency, which isn't normally a huge concern in a studio since power demands are low. Supposedly they will eventually dominate amplifier design, though. Certainly it would make sense for live power amps, since it would require smaller transformers and heatsinks, which are expensive and *oof* heavy :o
