I have recorded the organ being played at my local church and I have a problem with it. It appears to have a resonating deep sound/distortion when I replay it, and causes the speakers on my hi-fi to shake when it is played.

The wave form never over modulates, but within the sound is this growling, as if the organs speakers were being pushed too loud. I am guessing that it was there when I recorded it, but never noticed it. I assume it is some frequency that is making this noise.

Is there anyway in Cool Edit Pro that I can a) identify the offending frequency and b) remove it?

Thanks.

A) Sweep the frequency with an EQ to pinpoint the offending range. (if you don't know how, you can search this forum, there are many topics on it)

B) You can scoop it, roll it off, etc... However you cannot delete it or remove it completely.
