ADD -- blessing and curse
I'm trying to record with Cakewalk, and I get the drum beats I want, but I'm trying to record the bass, and I keep getting "DROPOUT" at the bottom of the screen, and then a dialog box that tells me that the disk may be full. What do I need to do to fix that?

Well the obvious first question is, is your disk full?

If it is, you need to delete stuff to free up disk space.

However, I have seen/heard of people getting this message even when their hard drive has lots of space. In that case I would check you swapfile settings.

You can also simply try rebooting. Sometimes that's all that's needed.

Just a note to remember... 24bit recording's take up double the space of 16 bit recordings...

In other words, if you plan on recorded a 3 minute song with 10 full tracks of audio in 16 bit you will need about 300MB, whilst in 24bit you will need about 600MB.

I keep bugging peope about this, but:

Do you use any strange, "non-english" characters in the trackname. Maybe something like "Bäss". Sonar can't handle characters like this.

What's your soundcard and what's your latency?
