hey ya'll, i was wondering if anyone have an idea of how or where i can find out to build my own dirty south style synths in reason. what im lookin for is like that lil john sound. i have a friend of mine that im making beats for and i got the drum kit for it but as far as the synths go im really lackin. any help would be great.

In the subtractor select "synths" Rave Lead. Play around with the filters to make your own synth. Also in the Subtractor, select "bass" HyperBottom. Bring the octave up 1 or 2 and you have the Lil Jon high lead.

i actually did a lil bit of search and in the malestrom patches that came with my reason(3.0) it has a patche called LilJohnnyLead....it was exactly what i was lookin for....cant belive it was so obvious being there and i didnt notice LOL

Funny this should come up.. I'm working with a song that calls for a Lil' Lil' John synthing in Reason... I'll be posting it later...

Edit: Peep it...

It was cool, didn't really move me to much. I think that hat made it sound a little thin, and those sounds were casio.

Noted... Thanks for the input!

In reason im not sure, I really belive a sampler is in order tho, if you have the sub bass and bass drums, I like to use halion and change the pitches. Almost anything has a techno saw lead, and lil jon uses just a sine wave with the cutt off low. Thats usually it, not very hard to make his beats at all. Remember that dirty south crap is ran from 120 bpms to 175 bpms
