what distortion pedal should i use if i want brutal distortion (heavy metal) for direct recording purposes? I am recording to software on my computer btw. ive heard of something from tech 21 i think that is good, or the POD, but it has to be brutal. any suggestions?

I don't know what your price range is, but the Roland GP-100 does the trick for me. Check http://www.idrive.com visit "fishmed" for my posts. The band Dust used it. Flax used an ADA MP1 Clasic, but we ran it through the Roland for the speaker emulation. I will be posting more music soon.
