Hi guys! Thank you in advance for your help.

I am setting up a home studio more for practice now, but to start recording also. I already have a mixer, a very small basic speaker and a pair of mics.
I know the best setup for bass/guitar would be instrument>amp>mic>mixer>monitor. But as I'm on a budget I would appreciate your opinion:

Would you get first a more professional monitors, namely PreSonus Eris 3.5 or an Orange Crush Bass25 amp?

Most folks are DI ing bass and using amp sims in the recording device of choice if going digital and some to tape also. I do both, but the quickest (since i am using a DAW in a separate room) is usually DI.

As for monitors, where you have them and the sound of the room itself are going to determine what's best there.

Have you decided what you are going to record to?

Thank you Gtoboy. I'll go in that direction then. My daughter sings and is learning keyboards. She is starting a Youtube channel, mainly pop songs. I want to help her go to a more pro sound.
