The not fountain head
Heyyo...

My friend bought me one of these for Christmas.. It just came in the mail yesterday...

This thing is crazy... I'm all about pure tube amp signal chain, but for mobile jammin' and scratch guitar, its sweet...

Has anyone had any experience with the X Edit program, for the pc (that lets you edit the RP350 presets on the computer)?

I'm anxious to mess around with it, but I'm not at my home computer...

I've done a lot with its babiest brother, the RP50. It took a lot of tweaking but the results seemed workable. A lot of 2005 rumbles were recorded in a hotel with the RP50, laptop, and $20 Sony headphones.

Cool...

Yeah.. I think some of the presets are more shock and awe than usable...

The level of tweak-ability is awesome.. I could spend hours just making presets...

Sounds clips may follow...

Cool..

Okay, so I have an idea...

This thing has got Pickup, Amp, Cab and Pedal modeling....

And, since I like miking things up, I figure I should find a really transparent 1x12 guitar amp and pipe this thing into the clean channel...

On the RP350, I could build presets with cab modeling turned off... Hopefully, this would produce a more realistic tone....

Any ideas of a good transparent 1x12 setup? I'd like to have a vintage 30 celestion.. lol.. but whatever sounds good is cool by me....

I bought one of these right after Christmas. I found out the first night I had it that it does not work to plug it into your computer and try to edit it with the knobs while it is plugged into the computer. The result is the equivalent of a Windows fatal error. You have to unplug it [from the computer and from the wall], and reset it to the factory settings.
I'm still trying to figure out why only the engineers from Zoom have mastered the concept of designing/installing a simple on/off switch into the Zoom FX units and that simple electronic concept eludes the other manufacturers.

No disrespect intended YeshuasFan, but I am here with my RP350 connected to my computer. I can make changes on the pedal itself and X-Edit. Have you installed the latest updates for the pedal?

As far as an on/off switch goes, I agree. However, what I do to solve this is use a dedicated power-surge-protector strip for my Amp/FX's board.

Trav...

Same experience here, everything works as expected. I should note that there are very specific steps which must be followed when installing X-Edit including a mandatory version upgrade, .NET library install, and factory reset. The installation process prompts you specifically what you need to do at what point and it must be followed to a T.

I really like the sounds this thing gets. I'm currently running it into the fx return of a Tech 21 Trademark 60 and it sounds great. I think the Power Engine 60 would be an excellent match.

Have fun!
