I am wanting to incorporate some of the sonic characteristics of Reel to Reel in my recordings.

Would running an entire mix from a computer into a Reel to Reel, and then back to the computer (to be mastered or burnt to CD) produce favourable results in anyone's opinion??

Try it - if it gives you the sound you want, then do it!

I've done that alot with sequenced synthetic drum tracks and had great results. I've not tried the full mix though, just individual tracks that needed 'something'.

Give it a go, it's great (at times) ;)

the whole thing about going from digital to analog and back to digital isnt the greatest idea. Yes it might add some gush. However, Think about all the resistance your putting your audio through. If its in the box keep it in the box. Analog to digital is alright, I like it.

Peace

Save yourself the hassle and just buy McDsp Analog Channel.

Yeah, don't use the analog equiptment you already have to get a true analog effect. Instead, spend more money on a digital imitation of that effect...

It's worth its weight in gold if you have any degree of time constraint on projects, and it sounds great.
