digital recording options for dell laptop

i have a dell inspiron 4150 laptop that i wanted to use for my personal digital recording studio...originally, i wanted to use a pro tools system, but after researching, i found out that protools will not work with a dell laptop...can anyone suggest a similar system(compared to the digi001) that would work well with this computer...so far my research has left me empty-handed.
 
Compare to digi001 you have digi002 that uses FIREWIRE, but there are more, the firestation from presonus, or 828 from MOTU, but RME has a very good solution for you, using PCMCIA, check out the multiface.
 
other thing, about RME
