I am having difficulties setting up my digital recording studio and need some advice. Below is my equipment list.
Mixer: Yamaha EMX5000-12
Soundcard: Echo Layla 8 ins/outs
Behringer - Ultra DI Box
Can someone explain to me the correct way of connecting the mixing board to the Layla if for instance I would like to lay down 1 track at a time. What I have done so far is connected my Keyboard to the input of one channel on the mixer then take the insert of the same channel to an input on the Layla. The recording level seems good, however how can I play the track back to me through the monitors while laying a second track, a third track and so on. I tried an output from the Layla to another channel on the mixing boarding (input) but there is alot of scratchy hissing sound. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks.
