I'm helping some colleagues set up a system for recording conferences and creating podcasts, and they came to me because I know Adobe Audition and some home-recording basics.
The set-up is that they have a decent booth and soundman. He's been running a line out (mini jack) into an older Sony minidisc.
I'm thinking there are two more efficient ways to go.
1) Buy a digital interface and record direct to laptop, using Audition.
2) Buy a small digital recorder like an Edirol or Zoom, record as mp3, output to computer for editing.
Any advice? If 1), what interface? If 2), what recorder? Which have line inputs?
Many thanks, and I hope this is in the right place.
