Digital piano recording: mono or stereo?

Hello Friends,

Is it better to record a digital piano (via an audio interface into Cubase) in mono or in stereo?

Why?

If it has 2 outs, left and right (stereo), I would record it in stereo. Usually, some kind of delay or modulation is applied to one or both sides to give a stereo spread, if it's a stereo output.

But, you can always record in stereo and then sum it to mono while mixing if you prefer the piano that way in the particular mix you're working on.
