Digital 8 Track to PC help pls

Hi All,

May sound a bit stupid but i have just bought a Fostex DMT 8VL digital 8 track, i understand there not too bad for an old machine but i was wondering if i could connect this to my pc (e.g for editing or adding effcts etc) it has a MIDI connector on the back and i have seen MIDI to USB cables on ebay etc, any tips advice would be great.

Do you have the manual? A quick search, looks like it has an optical SPDIF presumably two channel out -maybe two' at a time transfers?
