Digidesign Digi 003? How do I hook it up?

I have a Digidesign Digi 003 Mixing board. I also have a digidesign mbox. I have the mbox hooked up to my sony computer with pro tools on point. The Sony doesn't have a firewire input. The Digidesign Digi 003 has a firewire cord. I have a usb port with cords. What do I do?
A. Get a new sound card?
B. Hook the Digidesign into the mbox via Midi cables?
C. Get a Firewire to usb converter piece to hook the Digidesign firewire into the Usb port on the Sony computer?

Hi. The best thing to do is get a firewire card. (Assuming this is a desktop Sony). SIIG makes a really good firewire card. It seems to be the most compatible with Protools7 and beyond. I have never used a firewire to usb converter. Firewire is faster. By converting you would essentially be going from a fast transfer to a slower transfer. You won't be able to hook them up together with MIDI. I would just use the 003 for everthing in my opinion. I hope this helps.
