I've heard that there is a free (trial?) version of the poor-man's protools, DIGI 001. I just want to be able to mx some sound fx wavs together at work. Anyone know if/where i can get this or something like it that would do the trick?
 
Did you try the Digidesign homepage? BTW, this is the N-Track forum. I've heard from many people that the free protools s*cks...Look into N-Track, $60 for a great 24-bit multitrack software package - supports both DX and VST plug-ins, great support from the author himself (had a reply to a problem within 12 hours).

I actually downloaded a trial version of n-Tracks and it's doing the trick. I'm going to look into purchasing the whole shebang.
