I'm looking to set up a second computer system (my primary system is Cakewalk 9 with Layla).
This system would be for down and dirty demos - laying vocals into Cakewalk 8 over Band-in-a-Box tracks (in a PC format).
I have access to a digi001 which I can get at cost (which still ain't that cheap since there isn't that much mark up on it - at least at the store I'm working with). I want the 8 ins and outs (can never have too many I/O's) and I like the idea that I can have the 2 mic pres (so I don't have to tie up any of my pres on the second system).
My question is, how well does the digi001 work with Cakewalk? I understand it's designed to work with ProTools - but I have used Cakewalk forever and can get around in it quickly and I already have it on my spare computer.
Does anybody have hands on with digi001/Cakewalk? BY the way, how good are the mic pres - compared to say a cheap pre like the Art Tube MP?
