Hi all,

I finally have my 002rack!!!! I'm really are trilled.

I have 2 questions though:

1)I installed all the plug ins that were on the installation CD. When I start Pro Tools though, I get the message I haven't authorized several plugins (like the focusrite ones and the D-Fi). When I want to authorize them, it says 'cannot find the authorization key '.

Can I authorize them, or is it really just a 30 day trial (didn't tought so)? can I get the key online?

2)While I'm at it, I also got the message my 'firmware wasn't up to date and I had to download an update'

Like all of you I guess my internet connection isn't on my audio computer so I couldn't dowload it, so I just choose later; wahat does this firmware mean? Everything seems to work ok without the update? And where can I download the update (URL)?

thx for all info!

Your owner's manual contains authorization codes to register the software. You will need to connect the PC to the internet long enough to do that, and periodically to get patches and upgrades.-Richie

Thx for the info richard. the plugins I am talking about don't ask a code but an authorization 'file', so I couldn't insert the PT code in my manual.

I'll keep you posted

new firm ware usually means less bugs/crashes OR it has to do with a slightly older version of the oo2 u got not being fully compatible with the software. I just burn my stuff to disk at bring it to the daw computer, im assuming u can do the same?

difi-lofi-focusrite..all those plugs are temps, when theyve run out go to your plug ins folder and delete em.

oh.. youve got a buncha free bomb factory plugs to go grab bro!(including the 1176!)
go here
http://www.digidesign.com/

then go to products, then le systems, then software, and youll see the free stuff. :D

you will need to have registered first though.

good luck.

I fixed the firmware, had a little bit of panic when Pro Tools didin't recognize the 002 any more, but after fiddling with the device manager everything went back to normal..
