I"m new to recording and wanting to set up a studio , does anyone have the Windows based version of Digi 001 yet.. I'd love to hear your thougts on it... good and bad... I also was looking at the Roland VS16 boxes... can't decide which way to go.. HELP... thanks for any input...

I own a 1680 and am looking at the digi 001 also but I can't scare up any conversation about this machine except one reply on VS Planet from a guy who recorded an album on it and is now selling his 1680. I guess it's still too new yet but go on digidesign web site and order the free video....it's impressive. Any digi owners want to comment?

is the pc digi available yet? i read something about proprietary software...which is scary....but may be false..if you are considering the digi, look at the aardvark direct pro and the card deluxe from digital audio labs....slightly more than half the price of the digi....plus, how much support is digi gonna put into a pc soundcard?

I'm also looking at the digi 001 for PC. It seems that no one knows anything. I ordered their free video and watched it. They were using a mac the whole time on the video, and they didn't say a word about the PC version the whole time. So,are these just unchartered waters or does someone know what's up? As for the Aardvark direct pro, it seems like I've heard a lot of negative things about it, like that the compressor
doesn't even work on it. It seems to me that if the digi does what it's supposed to, then it would definitely be worth the $850.

It's a excellent system if your not to interested in syncing
and doing any video stuff and you need only 24 tracks.

For sure it's worth the money but...
Check out their site to make sure you are getting the right PC. A mistake here will cost you !!!!

See the users BBS on the Digi site. There you'll find other guys running smooth systems due to the right hardware,
versus guys who are having problems with out the right hardware
