Digi 001 pres versys Yamaha MX12/6 pres

Anybody how they compare, and what kind are each (very bad, so so, good)? My point was to maybe replace the Digi with something with no pres and use the Yamahas.

ive heard some kick ass stuff done with the Digi pres....ask your buddy Vox....

Im thinking if you want a step up in quality, youll need at least RNP quality pres......
 
i've got an RNP, a DMP3, a UA 610 and a presonus pre, as well as the digi 001. i the ones on the digi sound fine. i like the stand alone units better (except for the presonus), but the two built in are ok. i got all the others so i can have more channels and inputs at one time, and more flavors for vocals etc...but the digi's pres are fine for most things.
 
thanks for the help. I'm not looking for a step up in quality yet, I wanted to get a simpler card with no pres but other features. And since I can use that Yamaha I was wondering about replacing the pres. Cheers, Andrés
