hi all,

I'm intending to buy a Delta 66 card, 24 bit and 96kHz are it's specs, and I allready have a soundblasterlive platinum, which I am going to keep for my midi stuff.

The SB has also a mic input, but that ones 16 bit. 44,1 kHZ. Can I use that one in combination with the Delta in CEP, or will CEP go berserk on these different sample rates? Do I have to record them all in 16 bit then?

I've never tried it but it sounds like it won't work. When you open a new session, you always have to choose whether you want that session in 16-bit or 32-bit fp. So, if you record in that session, you have to stick to one or the other.

But I know from experience that you can import a track into a CEP session at a different bitrate, and it'll play okay. So you could do some stuff in one session with one soundcard at one bitrate, some different stuff in another session with the other soundcard at another bitrate, and then insert/import tracks from the SB session into the Delta session.

As for different sample rates, I shudder to think. (shuddering starting now)
