Hi. Is it possible to setup different headphone mixes within Cubase SX3? I do a lot of tracking with singers, drummers etc and they all want to hear different mixes. If I was tracking with a singer, how would I give her more vocals in her headphones or a drummer more kick? I have a Behringer Powerplay headphone amp. Is it possible to do this within Cubase SX3 or the software mixer on my Echo Layla 3G or would I need to do this somehow through an analogue mixer?

dont think you can really do that in sx3... one of the things added to C4 is the controllroom function....

You should be able to do at least 8 headphone mixes. What you have to do is set up a seperate output buss for every headphone mix that you want. Then, you need to set up a group channel for each different headphone mix. Assign each of those group channels to the different output busses that you made at first. Once you ahve done this you should be able to use aux sends from each channel to send to the headphone groups which in turn feed the headphone master outputs. Latency may turn out to be a big issue, but a lot depends on your setup on what you aer doing with it.

wow xstatic... that's one hell of a work around... but i suspect the latency will kill ya by the time you try to hear what your recording mixed in....

Actually, it really isn't that complicated and can be set up in about 20 seconds. It's how Cubase naturally does it's headphone mix labelled "Audition". What takes time is having to click through all of the channels and get the right level. Assuming you aren't using too many plugins while you are making multiple mixes, you should be OK.

Most soundcards offer options to create mixes right off the A/D section, but that would not necessarily address tracks that are already recorded.
