Difference between these mics for mainly rapping and singing?

1) rode nt1
2) rode nt2
what's the main difference between these two mics? The nt2 has a high price but does that mean it's better?
I will mainly use the mic for record rap vocals, female and male singing too

please suggest any other mics if you think I should get.
 
The NT 2 has different polar patterns and cut switches, the NT1 does not.

If you are just doing lead vocals and use only a cardioid pattern, the NT1 will be fine.

If you need figure 8 or omni patterns, you need the NT2. Omni comes in handy for doing group background vocals, where 3 or more people are singing at the same time.
 
The NT2a also has a better high end. The NT1a has a silky, almost sloshy high end, whereas the NT2a is crisper and a bit more defined.
