Hi, I am a didgeridoo player (which is an instrument of the indiginous people of Australia), specificaly I am didgeribone player. Which is a kind of didgeridoo but is made out of plastic and has the special feature of being able to slide, dus able to play harmonies and stuff. Normal didgeridoo's only have one drone.
Anyway, what I am here to ask about is effects.
Right now I am using a Boss bass overdrive in my live setup. When recording I use VST plugins, dirext x plugins, and the Sound Blaster Live effects (I own a SB!Live Platinum)
I am looking for an effects processor which i could use live AND record with. I am not looking fur supergear or anything. but I need two things: compressor, didje has A LOT of dynamics!. And some effects like distortion, phaser. I don't want reverbs, or delays.
If you look at the freqs the didgeribone uses, Low B untill G. It ranges from bassguitar freqs untill some midrange guitar freq's. On top of that the didje has a lot of overtone (more then anything natural I would guess ;-) And in many situations I would like to preserve these for ass much as it goes.
What kind of effects/compressor prosssor etc. Should I get? Should I look for studio gear, or for (bass)guitars? (would like to have digital out for recording)
Price Range? $500-750.
So thanks for reading all of this. Any help would be apreciated.
regards
