Now i've been trying to for the last 2 yrs. to record at home, rap, sing and produce at the best of my ability (with help from actual studio owners), but of all 4 i've only been moderately successful at recording at home. I've been using Cool Edit Pro 2.0 to record my vocals (and music in general), fuity loops to make my beats, and it seems i've been making slow progress (all ineed now is a good reverb and delay on the vocals). So I decided to take the chance and start on a journey of a home studio and my first purchase was a new MXL 990 condensor Mic. Now me being the newbie i am i didn't know i needed phantom power to make it work, so now im in the works on buying a phantom power suppply (i'v been buying all my equipment from a site called musiciansfriend.com).Anyway i was wondering did i make a good purchase of this mic, or am i just a sucker for cheap equipment ? (its a 200 dollar mic i got from musicians friend for 67.95).
