I FINALLY got Music Creator Pro, the software I needed to be able to record multiple audio tracks simultaneously with my M-Audio Delta 1010LT. My friend and I plugged a guitar straight into it (with a 1/4 inch to RCA converter on the end of a guitar cord) and we plugged a mic into one of the mic inputs on the card and tested it out. When we played it back, it sounded fine.. A little quiet, but that's it.

We moved the computer down to where we practiced. I hooked up a cord from the preamp out of the guitar amp to one of the RCA inputs. We also had two mics directly plugged in, one on the drums and one to record vocals. We played a song and then listened to it. The drums were way too loud, the vocals were way too quiet, and the guitar sounded like it was on super trebble (which it wasn't). We decided to sit there and mess with the amp until we could get the guitar to record a decent sound. As we kept messing with the settings, with the amp and with the guitar directly plugged into the card, a steady clicking noise developed on everything we recorded. It happened with direct line in, it happened with mics. I thought maybe it was the speakers, but I played back a song that was on the hard drive and it sounded fine. What the hell happened?

If you dont hear the click now, then that could be your metronome (click) playing during recording (Check yoru software settings). For your guitar and other instruments, get a DI (Direct Input) box, which will take care of the impedence problem, they are very inexpensive.
