yes you did.
But it still sounds a little raw.
It would be better if it had that polished sound.
Dont ask me how ta get that sound though..
Beats me.

Any suggestions at all about how i may get the "polished" sound besides sending it out for mastering

I think the production is pretty freakin great man. The kick and Bassline especially are really full and solid. I think the guitar(???) track could be brought down a bit, though it's great and some of the ad-libs brought out some. IMHO this track is extremely polished, and damn near complete as is. It's not really my style but I think especially production wise it's awesome.

If you get a chance check my stuff, got a thread going here in the clinic, the track is "Jars, Bells and you." Thanks man, and good work, for sure.

Overall nice, track seems alitlte lopsided to the right.

Your sitar is a bit loud and distracting (to the left)

That is my initlal take. I can tell you more but I cant get past that LOUD sitar to focus on the mix.

I would have to agree, bring down the background track just a bit. On the high little flutter part kindof drowned out the vocals in parts.

Thanks for all the replies , i'm remixing it to bring the sitar down and make sure its properly balanced.

Sitar is still too loud when the track gets grooving.... It makes the bottom seem distant and not impactful. In the intro cool, but when you get into the track you need to automate it and have it come back inside the mix.

It takes away from some of the other stuff you have in the mix by it being so far forward.

when i mentally tune out the sitar the mix is fat although i'd brighten the key a little bit (very little) and that electronic thingy to the left should have a touch more top end in it.

OR... Darken the sitar up a little bit so it fits the overall color of your mix.

yeah, I think it's much improved, though like giles said the sitar is still kinda stickin out, but it is a strong part soooo....it's up to you I think. I personally don't know if it detracts from the whole as is, but for real a great track. Don't know if you did much with em but the vocals on the whole sound more in line w/ eachother. Nice improvements.

Strong parts in a mix do not have to dominate. When getting the rhythm and groove tight sometimes a strong part works better inside the mix more rather than in your face more.

the bass is making all kinds of stuff buzz in here, my snare strainer, some guitars, some stuff on the shelf w/ my speakers.... Sounds smooth, I'd only say maybe a little less busy at a few sections to highlight the words more there.
