Unpossible!
I am looking for a 24/48 8 channel rackmount a/d converter with adat lightpipe out. I want an older apogee or similiar quality. Did apogee make something like that? Is there something similiar in quality to an apogee that I can find used for 1000-1500?

Thanks.

Lucid Made a 8 channel A/D/A thats 24/48, you might be able to score it on ebay for the price you want. I think it was called 8824

If you're talking about the Lucid ADA 8824, I have one of these, they're pretty decent.

Yeah, it's high - I got mine about a year ago for $1400. I would pay more than that.

They are nice units tho.

I have three apogee ad-8000's and love them. And yes they make an adat card for them. my only issue with the ad8000's is the docs.

You will find all kinds of extra love for the AD-8000's with a "Big Ben" master clock... far better depth and resolution to the audio... IMNTLBFHO, the Big Ben makes the AD-8k's sound as good as many modern converters [I have no love for AD-8k's in general... with a Big Ben they are indeed acceptable in my twisted little world].

Peace.
