What exactly is it my friends church was shut down and i scored a bunch of audio equipment, what does it exactly do, and what do I do with it?
Thanks for the help.

"DI" stands for "direct injection".

It allows you to plug a high-level, unbalanced source (instrument or amp output) into a balanced microphone input.

A DI box (direct insertion) raises a high-Z instrument input to line level for recording. It's like the line out on a guitar amp without the amp. Commonly used for recording bass, and occasionally for electric or acoustic-electric guitar. I use it fi=or bass and often, my wife's harp, which has a Barcus Berry transducer in it.-Richie

What type are they? Maybe some members of this bbs could take some off of your hands.
