DFH2 and midi problems (perhaps drum map related)

Ok, heres the deal. I bought DFH2 the other day so I could get some better sounding drums (obviously.) Anyways, I've been programming my drums in a program called tabit and when I export the midi it sounds fine. Once I get it in cubase sx3, open the plugin and rout the output to DFH2, it plays the wrong instruments. I plays say a crash where a tom should be, etc. My question is, how do I fix this without manually going through and doing the old drag and drop technique in the midi editor? Is this something a drum map could fix? If so, how do I program a drum map?

The mapping is not the same. Even within DFH2, the mappings can change. For example (just making this up), the Haake and Sabian hi-hats may be different mappings also. You'll need to program you MIDI to what instruments you'll be playing, and not what the generic MIDI drums are.

The way I do this is to create the MIDI program (piano roll) within my sequencer. Then I can hear/test beats as I go.

so if I already have drum parts programmed I just have to start all over?

No. You just need to change the drum map which should take a MUCH shorter amount of time than starting all over and programming the drums from scratch again.

Read the Cubase manual --- the section you want will be titled 'making a custom drum map' or some such...

I also believe that DFH2 will allow you to remap.
